Summer Fun List

Although those of us in Sacramento have been sweating it out for months, according to the calendar, it’s finally officially summertime! And in my view, summertime = fun times. There’s just no way around it! Long sunshiny days. Warm breezy nights. It’s almost hard not to be in a good mood.

I’ve been busy busy scheming about all sorts of fun, outside of my box, things I hope to partake in over the next few months. While I’ve got to admit that I may have gotten over-excited and produced an unreasonably long list, I’m not going to “sweat” the details… heck, maybe all of this summer fun will bleed over into fall, which would be a-okay.

So, without further ado, here’s the list of fun/scary fun things that I’m aiming to do this summer:

+ Go to a 5 Rhythms Dance class with Bella Dreizler

+ Go bowling (bonus points for a triple digits score!)

+ Finish reading “I Was Told There’d Be Cake” by Sloane Crosley

+ Teach yoga

+ Do the IAY Get Peel’d 5-Day Cleanse and Juice Detox

+ Go ice skating on a 100+ degree day

+ Go tv-free for an entire week

+ Get a massage

+ Have my astro chart re-done (never gets old…)

+ Practice flying solo and enjoying my own company

+ Go on my first destination yoga retreat

+ Go to a baseball game (goooooooo Rivercats!)

+ Go on a picnic

+ Check out a Zumba class

+ Take a day trip … haven’t decided where yet!

+ Become a grown up

+ Shoot a gun

+ Renew my passport (ohh the possibilities!)

+ Practice yoga daily for an entire month

+ Host a themed dinner party

+ Listen to live music

+ Register as a yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance

What are you up to this summer?? I’d love to hear from you…!

  1. Practice flying solo in your own company is a great one. Growing up with a single Mom, I had a lot of examples of this growing up, but of course it’s easier said than done. During my single periods I started going to movies by myself when it was a movie I was really interested in seeing but my friends weren’t available. It’s also fun just to browse a bookstore solo, although this is slowly becoming harder to find. Traveling to Mexico solo was one of the best things I ever did!

    1. Yes, such a great one! I ventured to a movie alone earlier this year and it was pretty liberating (plus, I didn’t have to share the popcorn! ;)). This past weekend I went for broke and ventured to an slightly-out-of-town music festival all by my lonesome! Blog post forthcoming, but I’ll give you the short version: it was pretty dang awesome. Traveling solo to Mexico- now that would be a BIG step… :) xoxox

If you want company bowling, let me know!! I love bowling! And, re: giving up TV, Kim and I recently got rid of cable and it is surprising how easy it is to not watch TV and not feel that you are missing anything.

    1. Bowling = 100% YES! Let’s plan a date… And as for TV, technically I currently don’t have a “television” or “cable” (which some tell me is “un-American”) yet I manage to watch an astonishing amount of tv shows on my laptop by way of hulu, netflix, amazon, etc! :))
